„Siedem pieśni o awangardzie” – najnowszy projekt Komuny// Warszawa – to powrót do estetyki scenicznej i manifestów z lat 20. 19.00 (ul. Lubelska 30/32). Wstęp wolny.

W „Siedmiu pieśniach o awangardzie” artyści Komuny// Warszawa dokonają symbolicznej rekonstrukcji teatralnych scenografii, a powidoki estetyki scenicznej tamtych lat pozwolą przywołać idee teatralnej awangardy tamtych lat – także w kontekście zaangażowania politycznego, burzenia teatralnej iluzji i bezpośredniej rozmowy twórców z widzami.

– Patronat honorowy nad obchodami stulecia awangardy objął Prezydent RP Andrzej Duda. Może to ironia losu, a może znak czasu i ostateczny sygnał, aby pojęcie awangardy umieścić wśród eksponatów archeologicznych wymarłych kultur? Władza zwykle walczy z awangardą, bo ta zwykle walczy z władzą. Czy zatem duch awangardy umarł ostatecznie? – zastanawiają się twórcy.

Sztuka. Która nie jest oddzielona od praktyki życiowej. Lecz się w niej zawiera. Traci wraz z dystansem. Do praktyki życiowej. Zdolność do krytykowania tej praktyki. Teatr powinien zostać w teatrze. Miejscem sztuki jest galeria. Życie jest na zewnątrz. I wtedy mogą siebie sobie opowiadać. Bez naiwnej wiary w podbijanie nowych terytoriów. Opowiadać wyobrażenia przyszłości. Albo przestrzegać neofitów naukami przeszłości.

„Siedem pieśni o awangardzie” to jedno z dwóch wydarzeń artystycznych (drugim jest projekt „Ave. Działanie na kroki, megafony, flagi, okrzyki i race” Roberta Rumasa), towarzyszących międzynarodowej konferencji „Przestrzenie Awangardy / Spaces of the Avant-garde” w ramach prowadzonego przez Instytut Teatralny im. Zbigniewa Raszewskiego projektu ODZYSKANA AWANGARDA.

W trwający przez cały rok 2017 projekt badawczy zaangażowani są zarówno teoretycy jak i artyści poszerzający tradycyjną ścieżkę badań akademickich o działania artystyczne inspirowane awangardowymi praktykami I połowy XX wieku.

„Seven songs about the avant-garde”. RECONSTRUCTIONS

„Seven songs about the avant-garde” („Siedem pieśni o awangardzie”), the latest project of the Commune / Warsaw, refers to stage aesthetics and manifestos from the 20s. This is an elegy, but also a hymn in honour of the avant-garde. In theatrical reconstructions of the 20th century scenography and postulates of artists from those years the authors are looking for the answer to the question of what the avant-garde was: designing a vision of a better world? objection, or perhaps an escape from the wheel of history that rushes headlong? The premiere of “Seven songs…”, which have been created within the frames of the project RECLAIMED AVANT-GARDE carried out by the Theatre Institute will take place on November 14th at 7 pm.

In „Seven songs about the avant-garde”, the artists of Komuna / Warszawa will perform a symbolic reconstruction of theatrical scenographies. Afterimages of stage aesthetics of those years will allow evoking the ideas of the theatrical avant-garde from those years – also in the context of political engagement, the act of destroying theatrical illusion and direct conversation between the authors and the audience.Avant-garde manifestos are often defined as visions of a better world. Yet, sometimes the same manifestos can be interpreted as an escape from the wheel of history that rushes headlong. No matter which of these interpretation is correct, the avant-garde is always directed to the FUTURE.

The celebration of the centenary of the avant-garde is held under the honorary patronage of Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland. Maybe this is the irony of fate, the sign of the times or perhaps the final signal to place the concept of the avant-garde among the archaeological exhibits of extinct cultures? Authorities usually fight with the avant-garde because the avant-garde usually fights with authorities. The authors are wondering if the spirit of the avant-garde has finally died.

Art.Which is not separated from the practice of life. But is contained in it.Loses with the distance. To the practice of life. The ability to criticise this practice. Theatre should remain in a theatre. The place of art is a gallery. Life is outside. And then they can talk to each other. Without naive belief in conquering new territories. Tell the visions of the future. Or warn the neophytes with the teachings of the past.

„Seven songs about the avant-garde” is one of two artistic events (the second one is “Ave. Activity on footsteps, megaphones, flags, shouts and flares”/ Ave. Działanie na kroki, megafony, flagi, okrzyki i race” directed by Robert Rumas) accompanying the international conference „Przestrzenie Awangardy / Spaces of the Avant-garde”, within the frames of the project “RECLAIMED AVANT-GARDE” carried out by the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute. Both theorists and artists, who extend the traditional path of academic research with artistic activities inspired by the avant-garde practices of the first half of the 20th century, have been involved in the research project carried out in 2017.
